NATIONAL INFORMATICS CENTRE
National Informatics Centre (NIC) was established in 1976, and has since emerged as a “prime builder” of e-Government / e-Governance applications up to the grassroots level as well as a promoter of digital opportunities for sustainable development. NIC, through its ICT Network, “NICNET”, has institutional linkages with all the Ministries /Departments of the Central Government, 36 State Governments/ Union Territories, and about 708 District administrations of India.
NIC has been instrumental in steering e-Government/e-Governance applications in government ministries/departments at the Centre, States, Districts and Blocks, facilitating improvement in government services, wider transparency, promoting decentralized planning and Centre, States, Districts and Blocks, facilitating improvement in government services, wider transparency, promoting decentralized planning and management, resulting in better efficiency and accountability to the people of India. Informatics-led-development” programme of the government has been spearheaded by NIC to derive competitive advantage by implementing ICT applications in social & public administration. The following major activities are being undertaken:
- Setting up of ICT Infrastructure
- Implementation of National and State Level e-Governance Projects/Products
- Consultancy to the Government departments
- Research & Development and Capacity Building
DATIA NIC
District Informatics Centre Datia was setup in 1988 in accordance with the M.O.U. signed between NIC and Govt. of Madhya Pradesh to set up NICNET facilities in M.P. National Informatics Centre (NIC) Datia is a premier Science & Technology institution of the Government of India, providing ICT solutions adopting best practices, integrated services and technical solutions in government departments. Since its inception NIC Datia is providing required support services in design, development, and implementation of appropriate MIS/Databases, Training, and Electronic Communication and processing of various Departmental databases. NIC District Centre provides common ICT Infrastructure and support services to government departments with Products and Solutions designed to adopting e-Governance initiatives. NIC has taken various e-Governance activities like Samagra Samajik Surksha Monitoring , e-Uparjan, e-Scholarship, e-District (Lok Seva kendra), National Animal Disease Reporting System (NADRS), Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MG-NREGA), Land Record Computerisation-Bhuabhilekh & Bhunaksha, Election MIS, Polling Party Formation for State Legislative Assembly & Parliament elections, Samadhan Online, NICNET and NKN network services, Local Area Network at Collectorate premises and Video Conferencing facilities, Capacity building, eMail and SMSs services etc. In addition to above, there are so many short term assignments are completed as and when required by the competant authorities.
