Brief Detail Of the Department :- Educational level and economic soundness are the hallmarks of the social status of any class. Therefore, the goal of the department is to bring educational and economic upliftment of scheduled classes to the next level of society. the department has the responsibility of education ranging from primary education to higher secondary and also providing various types of scholarships to SC/ST students, as well as operating several types of residential institutions for the purpose of providing free accommodation, food, clean drinking water, electricity etc. to scheduled caste and scheduled tribe students In which boys and girls of these groups are residing and getting education. It is the resolve of the state government that not a single eligible forest dweller be deprived of forest rights. The state government is moving towards providing other agricultural related facilities to the forest rights holders.
The state-level tribal museum has been constructed in Bhopal for the preservation and promotion of tribal traditional culture by the department. Community radio centers have been set up, so that information can be conveyed to the tribal areas of the state about the schemes being implemented by the state for their promotion. The department has also been made the nodal department for the Scheduled Caste / Tribe Atrocities Prevention Act to be implemented for effective control of atrocities on tribes. Thus, it is strongly designed for the all-round development of the tribal class in the state.
